Do you know what reasons you might need emergency dental services for? It’s important for everyone to know the difference between a real emergency and one that can wait for a scheduled appointment. At Yazdani Dentistry, we open our doors up to those who need our services immediately. So if you experience any of the below situations, be sure you give us a call and head down to our office right away so we can help you get the treatment you need.

Tooth Loss

If you undergo some form of trauma that knocks your tooth completely out, it’s important to visit our clinic as soon as possible. We can often save the tooth and root if you arrive at our office within the hour. Until then, be sure to hold the tooth in the socket which will greatly increase your chances of fixing it.

Continuous Bleeding

Bleeding gums can be a common sign of overbrushing, poor flossing and early stages of gum disease, but it’s not considered an emergency if it stops after a few minutes. However, if you have continuous bleeding from your gums that are caused by a stuck object, broken braces, or trauma, you should treat it as an emergency. This may also be the case if you’ve recently undergone an oral surgery where bleeding should have subsided days earlier.

Serious Fracture

Do you have a deep fracture in your tooth that is causing you pain or has visible dark spots? Those are signs that you need to seek emergency dental services. A fracture is considered serious any time your tooth is fractured down into the pulp area.

Pocket of Pus

A pocket of pus is a clear sign that you have a tooth infection. This is otherwise known as an abscess. If the abscess is accompanied by swelling, pain or fever, it’s essential to get to your dentist right away. Infection can easily spread to your body if not treated appropriately.

Lost Filling or Cap

It’s not uncommon for a crown or filling to come loose if you bite into something hard or suffer a head trauma. When this happens, it’s important to seek immediate dental care if the root is exposed or you experience any pain in the area.

If you experience any of the above dental emergencies, just remember that our doors are open at Yazdani Dentistry. You can trust us to treat you right away and give you the care that you need for optimal dental care, no matter the time of day.
